July 16, 2003 -- Jan Ireland: Lies? Bring them… On

Finally we get a President we can trust, one whose lips we don’t have to watch for the pursed smirk that tells us a big one is coming, and what does the left do? They accuse George W. Bush of lying.

And not in a hushed, scholarly, could-it-be-possible way. You know, by gathering facts. Looking at all sides. Waiting for solid information. Pursuing the objectivity, balance and evenhandedness history demands.

But loudly, incessantly, recklessly, at any and every opportunity.

Do a Google search of three words: Bush lied uranium. Are there what would be called a lot of pages? If you look at them, there are a few that support George W. Bush, but look at the multitude that don’t. Keep looking. Any names there familiar? Any ’04 presidential candidate names there? Any mainstream media names there? Any obvious Bush-hating names there?

Check out a few of the sites. Go ahead and click on them. Your computer won’t get a virus. (Hopefully.)

Do you start to see a pattern? Do you start to see a directed pattern?

But, you know what?

I say, bring the charges of lying…On.

In fact, trumpet them. Give more airtime to them. Print them on the front pages and editorial pages. Put them in magazines. Put them on cable news. Put them on talk radio. Put them on internet political sites.

Especially put them on cable news, talk radio and internet political sites.

Because that’s where the lies of the left are about to become historical. That’s where the lies of the left are fast approaching the dustbin of history. (Wonder who and what they’ll be joining there?)

The left has missed America’s revolution. They’ve been so fixated on their loss of power, and their attempt at reaccumulation, they haven’t seen that America has moved on. And, I’m sorry, but they haven’t changed a darn thing about themselves for so long, they’re wearing duds from yesteryear.

What used to be a lock on any message to America has been broken. What used to be complacent, no-government-leaders-could-possibly-do-that followers have awakened.

The explosion of sites on the internet; the monumental increase of email traffic; the erudite, astute, take-no-prisoner conservative radio talk-show hosts; the increasing number of conservative books being published without the aid of major publishing companies; the Fair and Balanced Fox News Network – all have combined to change the face of American knowledge.

And not with a conservative bias, as the mainstream media would have you believe.

Yet.
