Even UN Admits Weapons Material Missing

Kevin M. Roeten

It seems many may be in for the shock of their lives. But you never hear this information from mainstream ‘media’. We only hear that there is ‘no’ connection between Hussein and al-Qaeda. The ‘UN’, and New York Times are not exactly conservative ‘bastions’. But they’ve recently found evidence that may soften the most stubborn liberal idealist. Even some Christians are ‘doubting’ that the existing war on terrorism is a ‘Just War’.

Lest we forget, in the beatitudes, Jesus says “Blessed are the peacemakers”. But that same Jesus told His disciples “let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one”(Luke 22:36). Christians recognize that all of Scripture(‘Old’+‘New’) is inspired by God(2 Tim 3:16). The Bible even acknowledges that there is “a time to kill”(Eccles. 3:3). In the Old Testament, God commanded the Israelites to defend their nation by force of arms. But--it was always with the recognition that the goal was ‘peace’.

Bottom line, it is not necessary for the aggressor to strike first, even though in this case, the terrorists did. Even democrats foresaw events with moral certainty, and stated that WMD’s were a major threat from Hussein. Terrorists intended for all damage to be lasting, grave, and certain. Can that be doubted after 9/11? And certainly, any means of putting an end to it was shown to be impractical, or ineffective. Hussein’s refusal to step down after blatant arms violations, continued killing and maiming of his own people, aiding and abetting terrorists directly involved with 9/11, continued work with nuclear and other WMD’s, total corruption of the ‘food-for-oil’ program, and continuous threats to kill as many Americans as possible, proved that he WAS a serious threat.

Over 100 CIA reports exist that detail Iraqi/al-Qaeda cooperation. Putin(Russia) warned Washington that Hussein was preparing attacks on the US. After Clinton administration officials argued that Iraq had provided the chemical weapon know-how to an al-Qaeda linked Sudan pharmaceutical plant, traces of ‘EMTA’(‘VX’ precursor) were later found. A top secret memorandum obtained by the Weekly Standard (11/24/03) revealed that bin Laden and Hussein had an operational relationship up until 2003 that involved training in explosives and WMD’s, logistical support for terrorist attacks, al-Qaeda training camps and safe haven in Iraq, and Iraqi financial support for al-Qaeda.

What you didn’t hear in the Zelikow Report outlining al-Qaeda/Iraqi contacts, was that Chair Tom Kean specifically said there was no question of those contacts. Vice-Chair Hamilton joined in saying that ‘he didn’t disagree’ with the president’s assertions ‘that there WERE connections’. Parade magazine said that Egypt and Jordan told Tommy Franks(US commander) that Hussein had WMD’s that would be used on America.

The New York Times(3/12/05) actually reported finding Iraqi WMD sites. Quote, “In the weeks after Baghdad fell on 3/3, looters systematically dismantled and removed tons on machinery from Hussein’s most important weapons installations, including some with high precision equipment capable of making parts for nuclear arms”. Sami al-Araji(Iraqi minister of industry) said “Equipment capable of making parts for missiles as well as chemical, biological, and nuclear arms, was missing from 8-10 plants that were the heart of Iraq’s dormant program on unconventional weapons.” And, from the UK Telegraph, “…Hussein’s regime offered a $2 million bribe to the UN chief weapons inspector to doctor his reports on the search for WMD’s”.

And on 6/3/05, the United Nations satellite imagery(UNMOVIC) confirmed 109 sites identified to have been emptied of equipment. From imagery analysis, chief weapons inspector Demetrius Perricos said that 53 of the 98 vessels that could be used for a wide range of chemical reaction had disappeared. Significant quantities of missing material were also located at the Fallujah II and Fallujah III facilities north of the city. Before the first Gulf War, those facilities played a major part in the production of precursors for Iraq’s chemical warfare program. The report said 37 of 405 fermenters had been removed. Those could be used to produce pharmaceuticals and vaccines as well as biological warfare agents such as anthrax. It was also found that 289 of the 340 pieces of the equipment to produce missiles had been removed. At the Kadhimiya and Al Samoud factory sites in suburban Baghdad, “all equipment and missile components have been removed”.

Now we’ve heard nothing about these ‘particulars’ from the Bush administration. You don’t think that they know details they can’t say, do you? Interestingly, over 75% of overseas American soldiers voted for Bush. I wonder if these soldiers know something we don’t, and if they would view recent ‘protesters’ as anything close to patriotic?
I guess if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck… The big question is, are you willing to risk your family that that this information is totally wrong?
