I suppose I should be flattered.
Ward Churchill, the hate-mongering wannabe Indian “professor” over at the rudderless University of Colorado at Boulder, has given quite a few interviews to various media outlets since this whole thing blew up in the university’s already grimy face.
I was the journalist who first pointed out on the air that this isn’t a First Amendment case but rather a case of treason and advocating the overthrow of the United States government. My doing so obviously alarmed Churchill, who sees being interviewed by me as an impassable minefield.
I was also the guy who broke the story of Churchill’s claimed Vietnam experience not matching his official military service record, which I have in my possession and with which Churchill knows I would destroy him.
And I was the one who first published his resume that he used to get hired at the university, which also doesn’t match his public claims of Vietnam service.
These facts, my interrogation experience, my hard-ass interview style and my military background make me persona no wanna talk to when it comes to wacky Ward. Despite repeated requests for an interview, he won’t even return my calls. He knows he would stand no chance against me in a fair interview, so he will continue to avoid me like reservation Indians avoid smallpox-infected blankets.
Him heap big clucker.
What astounds me is that so many Americans, including some of our best-known TV news and radio talk-show hosts, have yet to grasp the fact that we are at war. When America is at war, the First Amendment is trimmed back just a tad to protect the existence of the country and therefore our most precious individual right, which is our right to life.
News flash: your freedom of speech is meaningless if you are dead.
According to U.S. Code Title 18, Section 2381, Ward Churchill has committed treason, which is punishable by death. He also publicly advocates the overthrow of the U.S. government, which is a violation of Section 2385 and is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. These violations are inarguably evident when one reads all of Churchill’s publicly released writings since 9-11 and one listens to his rantings since that fateful day.
Sadly, I am obviously one of very few journalists who have actually read more than a few highlighted lines in Churchill’s “Roosting Chickens” ramblings. I’ve read every scrap of publicly released writings by Churchill and listened to every sound bite I could find. I trust you can say the same.
Of course, the wild-eyed, screaming left, upon hearing this argument, flails the air and wails that if we charge Churchill with such crimes that we must then charge all Americans who disagree with the war on terror with the same crimes. Such pedestrian counterpoints are ludicrous because the loyal opposition is to be encouraged so long as it remains the loyal opposition and does not knowingly and willingly lend aid and comfort to the enemy and so long as it does not advocate the overthrow of the government. Simple policy disagreements are precisely that. Statements that blatantly violate the law are not made by the loyal opposition.
So let’s forget the mounting evidence of plagiarism, academic fraud, insider assistance from powerful admirers at C.U. who helped him avoid the usual requirements for professorship and tenure, his lack of qualifications to teach the 7th grade (much less college), his bogus Affirmative Action claims, his complete inability to produce scholarly work, his incitement to violence, his admission that he was a bomb-building instructor for a terrorist group, and his indoctrination of our children. Let’s go straight for the jugular and charge him with treason and advocating the overthrow of the government.
Churchill is the enemy. Let’s treat him as such.
As a refreshing change of pace, responders sending hate email are urged to cite any errors in fact in this column.
