Can the 'Hamas Effect' Affect or Infect America?

Lee Ellis

Thanassis Cambanis, a reporter for The Boston Globe, wrote an article about Jordan this month. In part, the story stated the following:

“….the victory of the Islamist Palestinian group Hamas, just across the Jordan River in the West Bank, has invigorated Jordan's steadily growing Islamist movement and reinforced its conviction that democratic elections will pave the way to an Islamic republic in Jordan.

The school (House of Arkam) and the Islamic Action Front, the sole authorized religious party in parliament, are both wings of Jordan's Muslim Brotherhood, an organization that has followed the same blueprint as Hamas, cultivating support by running charities, hospitals, and schools along with its political party.

Now the Islamists in Jordan have set the stage for a major confrontation over the election law. Jordanians are going to the polls in 2007 to choose a new parliament, and the Islamists have sworn to push through a reform that would fully legalize political parties -- and could dramatically increase the Islamist representation.”

This has caused us all who live in democracies to be concerned about this problem facing such governments in the Middle East, what some analysts are calling the “Hamas effect.”

But it is not just the Middle East that should worry us. What is happening in Jordan is also happening here in America ---only with a different cast of actors! While the Islamic people have been slowly taking over the government there in Jordan; here in America, the Socialists and Communist fronts (also known as "The Far Left") have been working for the past few decades to infiltrate the political parties and other organizations and preparing the public to accept their philosophies via political correctness, lowering of standards of education, morality, and ethics while preaching secularism and controlling much of the media.

Whether they are successful in their modus operandi can be best shown by how close our national elections have been in the past eight years. Gore almost became President as did Kerry. Look at the actions just this past year of Gore with his speeches. Imagine what it would have been like if he had become President. We would have had a triple threat of al Qaeda, al Jazeera and al Gore!

Listen closely to the messages being sent via Jimmy Carter, other politicians and media to the voters of today. This country could easily vote in a far left government that would destroy our economy and the culture that made this country a land of freedom. Watch for an attack on the Electoral College next. Once it is gone, then mob rule will be the result as coastal cities control national elections.

Infiltration has been more successful in controlling European nations than Hitler was in using war as his weapon. Look at France, Spain and other countries today as an example. Look at what is happening in South America.

Enemies have discovered that it is easier to slowly take control of any other country through infiltration and media control than it is to declare war. Even the terrorists have discovered since 9/11 that a war in the media is much more important than smashing planes into tall buildings. They boast about how they are destroying the resolve of the American people by good use of our media! If the current polls are to be believed, then the terrorists are correct!

While a democracy is one of the best forms of government, it can lose its ability to offer freedom if its people allow themselves to turn their responsibilities for self-preservation and welfare over to the government. Just as New Orleans was almost destroyed by sixty years of welfare, we are facing a different form of a "Katrina," a storm of weakness and appeasement followed by a loss of personal control over our lives. The Barbarians are no longer at our gates; they are within, offering us all personal gifts of miniature Trojan Horses. Will we accept? The answer will come soon!
