A Message From the Mob

Vincent Fiore

Though Congress has recessed for the month of August, the rhetoric and demagoguery has not. Witness the main topic of discussion among the political class and the masses: President Obama’s health care reform—or the ever-popular and growing “ObamaCare.”

Democratic members of Congress and its national arm, the Democratic National Committee, have singled out Americans that dare to balk at the administration’s power grab for a single-payer health care system that in essence would not only decide how you live, but incidentally, how long as well.

Calling Republican and Democrat voters that attend town hall events sponsored by congressional Democrats “angry mobs,” “right-wing extremist,” “cranks,” and even likening lawful protest to the Nazis, the party that gave lip service to “unity” and “bipartisanship” is now in the process of demonstrating its absolute disdain and bitterness for anyone who disagrees publicly with what is increasingly being looked upon as a disastrous bill in health care reform.

Further still, the White House has now gone the way of the old Soviet Union. White House Health Reform Office czar Linda Douglass has set up an e-mail address--flag@whitehouse.gov.--asking Obama supporters to send along anything that “seems fishy” regarding Obama’s health insurance reform. This from the very people who screamed the loudest over then-President Bush’s use of the Patriot Act.

The anger that is brewing and boiling-over throughout America is not a product of Republican interest groups or insurance companies renting mobs to storm town hall meetings in “brooks brothers” suits.

It is the American electorate beginning to stir from its Obama-induced stupor that captivated so many during the 2008 election cycle.

It is America taking a page from its proud and eventful history, saying not just “no” but “hell no” to ObamaCare and the liberal Democratic Congress that seeks to impose it regardless of what the people want.

It is the fear of one-sixth of the U.S. economy being nationalized--running up deficits that cannot possibly be paid down by our children and possibly theirs. It is future runaway inflation, 34 million Americans on food stamps, the dollar crashing, unemployment at levels not seen since the Great Depression, and still more.

It is the futility of being reasonable, measured, and compliant while government snatches through legislation the freedoms and moral fiber that tens of thousands bled for at home and abroad.

That time has come and gone, and Americans have seen the cost of liberal radicalism via this president and his party, and they have said enough.

It is America the free, shaking its mighty fists in frustration, in disbelief, in genuine anger, and with certainty, saying STOP!

It is freedom, and that is America.

President Obama thought that the electorate would transfer its personal adoration for him to his policies. They have not, and ever-more increasingly, rebels against those very policies. The Obama honeymoon period is now a thing of the past, as the blind-drunk love affair that existed between him and the American people slowly sober to the realities of a president hell-bent on changing the very fabric of America.

America has—hopefully—fully awakened to this smooth-talking, well-rehearsed community organizer who, in reality, is just a political neophyte who wouldn’t know a fig from a filibuster if not for the handlers and yes-men he surrounds himself with.

Indeed, Mr. President. While you strive at erecting political totems to yourself, the “mob” has a message.

We are many, and our name is legion.
